Looking for a FieldCentral alternative? What to check first
Facts checked 2026-10-06
Short answer: stay with FieldCentral if you already run 5+ technicians on recurring routes, need QuickBooks sync, payroll, route optimization or live GPS today. Consider Sprinklerly if you are a solo or small irrigation contractor, roughly 1-4 people, who wants scheduling, backflow records and customer records at a lower listed price and does not need QuickBooks sync, payroll or GPS.
Before you switch from FieldCentral, check these
- Export your customer list from FieldCentral. Sprinklerly imports CSV files, with saved column-mapping templates and an option to update existing customers on re-import.
- List the features you use every week. Sprinklerly does not offer QuickBooks sync, payroll, live GPS tracking or automatic route optimization.
- Ask FieldCentral what a cancellation or data export involves, and whether your plan carries an onboarding fee you would pay again elsewhere.
- Run both side by side for a week during the slow season, not the week before startups begin.
What FieldCentral does better
- Route optimization: its site describes a RouteBuilder feature and proximity-driven scheduling, while Sprinklerly route planning is manual and dispatcher-reviewed.
- Accounting and payroll: it lists QuickBooks Online and Desktop integration and payroll-ready timesheets. Sprinklerly has neither.
- Live crew GPS tracking and a time-and-materials field app. Sprinklerly has no GPS tracking.
- Seasonal agreements with automated billing, and map-based mass scheduling for seasonal startups and winterizations, built for large recurring-route irrigation shops.
- Established in irrigation software, with customers running 14+ users on one account.
What Sprinklerly offers instead
- Published price at small sizes: Sprinklerly plans to charge $79, $149 and $249 per month at general availability (free during early access) for the plans, against $277 per month for FieldCentral's smallest tier. The scope is not identical (see the list above), so compare features before price.
- Backflow tester certification is enforced in the product: an expired or uncertified tester cannot record a test, and test reports are generated as PDFs. We did not find backflow management described on FieldCentral's homepage on 2026-10-06; ask them directly rather than assume either way.
- A public, no-login booking widget and an end-customer portal. We did not find either described on FieldCentral's homepage on 2026-10-06; ask them.
Cost context
FieldCentral lists six tiers by number of users: $277 per month for 1-2 users, $467 for 3-4, $607 for 5-7, $817 for 8-10, $997 for 11-13, and custom pricing for 14 or more. Yearly billing is listed at 10% less. Its pricing page notes that a one-time onboarding, training and data-migration fee is not included in those prices, and it does not list features per tier.
