Looking for a Service Autopilot alternative? What to check first
Facts checked 2026-10-06
Short answer: stay with Service Autopilot if you need route optimization, job costing, automations or QuickBooks today, or you run mostly recurring lawn and landscape work. Consider Sprinklerly if you are an irrigation contractor who wants software modelled on irrigation work instead of lawn and landscape routes.
Before you switch from Service Autopilot, check these
- Export your customer list from Service Autopilot. Sprinklerly imports CSV files, with saved column-mapping templates and an option to update existing customers on re-import.
- List the features you use every week. Sprinklerly does not offer QuickBooks sync, payroll, live GPS tracking or automatic route optimization.
- Ask Service Autopilot what a cancellation or data export involves, and whether your plan carries an onboarding fee you would pay again elsewhere.
- Run both side by side for a week during the slow season, not the week before startups begin.
What Service Autopilot does better
- Route optimization and multi-day job management (Pro), where Sprinklerly route planning is manual.
- Job costing and customized reporting, and workflow automations on Pro Plus.
- QuickBooks integration and two-way texting on its top tier.
- A lower entry price: Startup at $49 per month.
What Sprinklerly offers instead
- Irrigation-specific records: a controller, zone and component tree per property with warranty flags.
- Backflow tester certification tracking with renewal reminders, and certificates of insurance generated as PDF packets. We did not find either on its pricing page on 2026-10-06.
- Geofenced service-area scheduling with per-window capacity.
Cost context
Service Autopilot lists Startup at $49 per month, Pro at $199 and Pro Plus at $499, with Elite on a contact-for-pricing basis. Its pricing page describes route optimization, multi-day jobs and job costing on Pro, and automations on Pro Plus; two-way texting, a client portal, smart maps and QuickBooks integration are listed under Elite.
