Looking for an HFSM alternative? What to check first
Facts checked 2026-10-13
Short answer: stay with HFSM if you want a single platform covering dispatch, payments, SMS, inventory and marketing, or you run more than one trade. Consider Sprinklerly if you are a small irrigation contractor and a $300-a-month entry price or the breadth of a full suite is more than you need.
Before you switch from HFSM, check these
- Export your customer list from HFSM. Sprinklerly imports CSV files, with saved column-mapping templates and an option to update existing customers on re-import.
- List the features you use every week. Sprinklerly does not offer QuickBooks sync, payroll, live GPS tracking, built-in payments or marketing campaigns, and route planning is manual. It does export payments and invoices as files you import into QuickBooks Online yourself.
- Ask HFSM what a cancellation or data export involves, and whether you bought paid setup or migration you would pay for again elsewhere.
- If you are on a trial or the LAUNCH50 promo, note that the promo must be activated by 2027-03-28 and ask what leaving does to it.
- Run both side by side for a week during the slow season, not the week before startups begin.
Where HFSM is the better choice
- Breadth. HFSM lists scheduling and dispatch, a live dispatch map with technician GPS, invoicing with Stripe payments and AutoPay, inventory, a price book, two-way SMS and email, a customer portal, marketing campaigns and a finance and tax center, all on every plan. Sprinklerly does not do payroll, live crew GPS or QuickBooks sync, and it is not a marketing or accounting suite.
- Several trades in one tool. HFSM lists irrigation, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, landscaping, exterior cleaning, garage door and handyman modules, which matters if you do more than irrigation.
- Estimating. Good/Better/Best estimates, flat-rate price book starter libraries and an inspection-to-opportunity workflow are on its features page.
- Irrigation inspections. HFSM lists irrigation sprinkler inspections and an irrigation module with zones, controllers, backflow, pumps and seasonal routing on its home page.
- Done-for-you help if you want it: guided setup, data migration and website or SEO work are sold as paid services (HFSM pricing page).
Where Sprinklerly may fit better
- Price for a small crew. HFSM's four standard plans are priced by seat count, starting at $300 per month for 1 owner, 1 technician and 1 office user. Sprinklerly's planned general-availability prices are $79, $149 and $249 per month, and it is free during early access. The scope is not like-for-like: HFSM includes far more modules.
- Backflow test records. On HFSM's home page, backflow appears as an irrigation-module component. Backflow test reports, certified-tester fields, water-authority submission and annual retest reminders are not listed on HFSM's site as of 2026-10-13. Sprinklerly has backflow tester certification and test reports built in.
- A narrower tool for irrigation only: customers, properties and a controller, zone and component tree with warranty flags, plus geofenced service-area days with a per-window capacity that cannot be overbooked, on a map.
- Language and winterization: Spanish and a seasonal blowout or winterization workflow are not listed on HFSM's site as of 2026-10-13 (it does name Spring Start-Up inspections and seasonal routing). Nothing here claims HFSM lacks them. See our winterization checklist for the manual version.

HFSM lists four standard plans, each with the same 19 modules, differing by seats: Entrepreneur Package at $300 per month ($3,000 a year, about $250 a month) for 1 owner, 1 technician and 1 office user; Small Business at $750 per month ($6,000 a year) for 1 owner, 5 technicians and 3 office users; Medium Business at $2,500 per month ($27,000 a year) for 2 owners, 10 technicians and 5 office users; and Larger Service Business at $6,500 per month ($66,000 a year) for 3 owners, 25 technicians and 10 office users. HFSM also lists a launch promo code, LAUNCH50, for 50% off for life on eligible paid plans if activated by 2027-03-28 (HFSM start page). Setup and migration are separate paid services (Guided Setup from $499, Data Migration from $999), and its features page notes that payment processing, SMS and mapping usage may cost extra (features page).
